Cedric is a young man who works as a car mechanic. He lives in El Carmen with his mother and leads a poor and unhappy life. He works multiple part-time jobs to cover his mother's health expenses, but the money he earns is never enough. After finishing his day shift at the auto repair shop, Cedric hears about Non-City from his co-workers while working hourly jobs helping with loading cargo on ships at the harbor in the evenings. Non-City is a newly established city where the world now revolves around.
